Edgar Wright

Edgar Wright smashed onto our screens in spectacular fashion in the early Noughties with the cult British sitcom “Spaced” starring Simon Pegg and Nick Frost.

He followed this up with his first feature, the modern-classic RomZomCom “Shaun of The Dead”, the first of his “Cornetto Trilogy” – his big screen partnership with long-time collaborators Pegg and Frost. The second installment – “Hot Fuzz” – an affectionate pastiche of action-cinema followed. Edgar then co-wrote, produced and directed the comic-book adaptation “Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World”. In 2013 he released the final instalment in his Cornetto Trilogy, the binge-drinking alien-invasion comedy “The World’s End.” This was followed by the high-octane heist-thriller “Baby Driver”, starring John Hamm and Jamie Foxx.

In 2022, Edgar pulled off the feat of directing two features in a single year. The first was “Last Night in Soho” – a genre-defying suspense thriller set in Swinging London – starring Matt Smith, Anya Taylor-Joy and Terence Stamp. This was followed in quick succession by “The Sparks Brothers” a heartfelt-documentary love-letter to the greatest band you’ve never heard of.

Beyond the world of Film and TV, Edgar has directed commercials for SquareSpace, Nike and McDonalds amongst others, and iconic music videos for artists such as Pharrell, Beck, The Bluetones and Mint Royale.

Most recently, Edgar executive produced a new anime version of the Scott Pilgrim series with creator Bryan Lee O’Malley called “Scott Pilgrim Takes Off”. The new series premieres on Netflix in November 2023.
